Now that the semester's over, I don't know what to do with free time, so I think it's about time to plug in some bloggin' swag. Whatever that means.
Please be Mime from Adele Hawkins on Vimeo.
I even tried to do an actual character sheet, only to go off model in every single frame, and then I decided it wasn't enough to just go off model, so I changed his name too. I'm sure the lack of consistency won't factor in at ALL in the final grade, right?
Mimes get ALL the invisible girls, geez. Gotta fix a couple parts, but I figured I would post it anyway, because if I son't now it'll just fester on my hard drive and start resenting me. This was a fun story to work out, especially since most of the interaction happens between the mime and an invisible woman, and how are you supposed to get THAT to make sense?
I originally pitched something like this for my Sit-Stand animation assignment but I was like "lol too animation and acting heavy".
And speaking of
Sit Stand... remember this guy?
Or this guy?
Perhaps you recognize THIS FELLOW?!?!
The president made a special appearance in my sit stand assignment.
Abe Lincoln goes to the Theater from Adele Hawkins on Vimeo.
This assignment was crazy and heartbreaking and made me question my life, hope you enjoy it. Next step, figure out what to do this summer.

Gee willickers, look at these figures in context!
I wish I could lay down at the foot of a tree... I picked the wrong major for that.
It's almost as if he's sitting on a bench! Unfortunately this is a cropped down version; originally I showed more of the table and there was another cup... that belonged to someone who DIDN'T SHOW UP! Now all he has is that one lonely cup...
(In real life it was a starbucks cup, what do you want from me)
I swear I'll post things from my major... after the semester ends. Until then, all y'all have to settle for awkward studies.

Some recent work from my figure painting class... which I have yet to paint in. But I've enjoyed practicing drawing for longer sessions. When I started this class the only figure experience I had was with gestures, so I wasn't sure how to spend my time. I had another sketchbook with drawings like this, but alas it is le gone. Oh well.

These were my ideations for simple poly last semester. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I drew the shark and ...troll... thing. Now for sitstand I'm mainly doing Abe Lincoln. I mean, obviously.
These Lincolns were actually too generic looking, so the the end product is going to be a lot more exaggerated than this.
OH AND LOOK, EVEN MORE BIRDS, THIS TIME FOR CONCEPT. PERHAPS THERE IS SOME SORT OF PATTERN HERE, I'M NOT SURE.
I need to stop blogging and actually make pretty things that look nice on blogs, or portfolios.
